The Diana is a *proper* handbag. The silhouette is inspired by two of our favorite Dianas: one's a Princess (of Wales), and one's the Queen (of Motown). Our iconic Boom hand-painted pattern is inspired by Matisse, Basquiat, and Keith Haring

The Diana handbag takes between 18-24 hours to paint and construct in our Raleigh, NC studio. Here's a peek into our studio to see the Diana in Boom being made.

Two flat interior pockets. Removable crossbody shoulder strap.

11" length, 9.5" height, 5" base width, 5" handle drop.

Our leather is sourced from the top 1% of European hides, and is vegetable-tanned, dyed, and semi-finished at the tannery. When it arrives at our studio, we cut and hand-paint the leather using special paint that we specifically formulated to work symbiotically with our tannery's finishing process. (This is much different than using store-bought paint on a factory finished handbag!) Our special process ensures that your bag is exceptionally vibrant, well-protected, and will develop a beautiful patina as it wears with you.

The interior of each bag is lined with calf suede, and we use solid brass hardware.

Your Ann Howell Bullard handbag has been designed and constructed using the finest materials and techniques available to us.

If you treat your handbag with care and respect, it will eventually become your favorite vintage handbag. :)

  • Do not allow hand lotion, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, perfume, makeup, or any other chemicals to come in contact with your handbag. Chemicals can break down the protective sealant that has been applied to your hand-painted handbag. As we are all using loads of hand sanitizer at the moment, simply allow the sanitizer to fully dry and sink into your skin before handling your bag.
  • Take care with keys, bracelets, jewelry, etc. to avoid scratching your handbag.
  • Store your handbag in the organic cotton dust bag provided. Do not store your handbag in plastic or anything airtight. Do not store your handbag in excessively hot, cold, or humid environments.
